Hamburg Pro Media has just released their latest tool called Virtual MXF.

It allows you to scan a folder or volume for any MXF files and virtualize them as QuickTime movies, so that Final Cut Pro X and other applications which can’t work on MXF files natively, can use them without transcoding.

This enables FCP X to support a wider range of professional environments again, much like FCP 7 did using MXF4mac.
