Many of us work with multiple VPN connections. If you use Mac OS X’s integrated VPN client, you will notice that each VPN setup is linked to the network location you are currently working in while setting up the VPN connection.

When you switch to another network location, Internet Connect won’t let you choose your VPN setup anymore.

Here’s what you do: create all your VPN tunnels and save them in Internet Connect.
Now choose File -> Export Configurations… and save each VPN connection on your disk.
The resulting files can be double-clicked to open a VPN connection.

Now switch to a second network location, and either double-click on your exported VPN config files, or choose File -> Import Configurations… in Internet Connect. Then manually add passwords and shared secrets to your connection settings, as they are not stored in the export files.

Now you can use your VPN connection in another network location.

Thanks for the tip, Armin :-)
