Final Cut Server & Workflow automation presentation at VideoVisions event in Paris

On Wednesday the 3rd of November I am going to present some new Final Cut Server automations I developed this summer.

The demo will include metadata exchange between FCSvr and other DAMs, complex automations, and fsevents based data protection using Archiware PresSTORE.

If you’d like a copy of the Final Cut Server presentation I will give in London at the VideoVisions event in London next week, here it is.

Presentation in Berlin: Mac OS X Server 10.6 as communication platform for Mac, Windows, Linux, and iPhone

On Tuesday, March 2nd 2010, I am going to present Mac OS X Server 10.6 as the central communication platform for Mac OS X, Windows, Linux, and iPhone.

I will follow the setup guide described in my new book published by O’Reilly (in german). Everything will be done using a live demo system.

Final Cut Server sessions at VideoVision events in Munich and London

On Thursday, March 18th, I will give a talk on Final Cut Server (FCSvr) workflows in Munich, including MXF media files for edit-while-ingest scenarios as well as XML interfaces between FCSvr and other applications.

Mac OS X and Video/Server show at Mac EXPO UK in London

From October 27th to 29th Björn Adamski and me will present two shows a day at the Mac EXPO in London. The 11 am show will be a Mac OS X tips and tricks show while the 3 pm show will provide you with the latest updates on Final Cut Pro collaboration in an Xsan environment. Xsan Video & Server Pro Lab

At the MacEXPO 2005 in Cologne we built up a Video & Server Pro Lab to demonstrate a real-world video workflow based on Xsan and Apple’s Final Cut Studio.

Our setup delivered 220/250 MB/s write and read performance. This is how the network looked like:

In addition the Xsan metadata controller failover server hosted three web and mail domains using the PHP/MySQL based CMS WordPress and Blojsom, and offered additional services like NetBoot/NetRestore, DNS, DHCP, Software Update and file services.
