German version of the book “Mac OS X – The Missing Manual, Tiger-Edition” available

A couple of days ago the german version of the O’Reilly book “Mac OS X – The Missing Manual, Tiger-Edition” was released.

The german version of the book is based on the Panther edition of the book and was updated by Rudolf Steffens and me. The book was written with the average Mac user in mind, but it also offers all the information needed by beginners as well as professionals in additional boxes throughout the book.

Xsan Video & Server Pro Lab

At the MacEXPO 2005 in Cologne we built up a Video & Server Pro Lab to demonstrate a real-world video workflow based on Xsan and Apple’s Final Cut Studio.

Our setup delivered 220/250 MB/s write and read performance. This is how the network looked like:
